#23 Is this really the end? Or just the beginning ...

At least I now know how to set up a blog and to add posts. Some of the earlier sessions were a challenge, however it has been a rewarding experience completing learning 2.0.

#22 Audiobooks (or "The end is in sight ")

What a cool idea – no library fines! Perhaps this is the way of the future for audiobooks. No damage can occur, can be accessed again and again, without the worry of the item not being available. E-books, the way of the future for keeping books “in print”, even though the hard copy of a book may not be available, the audio version is!

#21 Podcasts, Smodcasts!

Love using i-tunes to update my i-pod. My children download their favourite TV shows to watch again and again.

#20 You too can YouTube

Any website with streaming media streaming media and has been blocked as it breaches Councils Internet Usage Policy. However, after accessing this from home, it has some great information. I particulary enjoyed watching the aboriginal dance group performing Zorba the greek, http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=O-MucVWo-Pw.
Also, new notes on the blogger page http://www.blogger.com/ on how to insert a video to the blog.

#19 Discovering Web 2.0 tools

Played around with colorblender. http://colorblender.com/
Great to use if working out color schemes for painting or even if completing artwork. Not clear on how to transfer chosen color palettes to another computer. Little use within a library setting unless redecorating the library. Perhaps it could be used within a display area, when contemplating different colours to promote an activity, use of color to appeal to the senses or to make a statement.

#18 Web-based APPS

How fantastic to have free software available on the web, for use at anytime from any place that has interent connection. I enjoyed playing around with http://writer.zoho.com and attempting to save the information to my blog.

#18A Zoho trial

Zoho writer, a cool web-based APPS - and it is for free!

Just playing changing fonts, color, bold, italics, underline, kiss emotions, etc. So many editing options, just like WORD!

Easy to add links Google search for Australia.

#17 Playing around with PBWiki

I played around with PBWiki, an interesting tool. I added my blog to the Favorite Blogs page under the appropriate library service in Australia. I wonder where all the other participants have placed their blogs from my library service?

#16 WIKIS

SJCPL liked idea of outlining new resources, best sellers, award winners etc., and linking them back to the library catalogue. Booklovers WIKI cage great ideas on books to read with a wide range of subjects. Library Success has an interesting idea to verify email before accepting WIKI, however, I'm not sure how reliable this would be to combat inappropriate comments as it is easy to set up email accounts. I googled WIKI in Australia and found an interesting paper given on blogs at http://www.information-online.com.au/docs/Presentations/watson.pdf

#15 On library 2.0 and web 20.

Many many articles on Libraries and Learning 2.0. Do library users want to participate in the virtual world? Is blogging the way of communication? There is so much information "out there". How do students make the right decisions about the quality of their research using the internet? Could libraries assist with this?

#14 Technorati

A big search engine for blogs, I found 9206 resutls in tags, then 766 blogs and 845 posts tagged in relation to Learning 2.0.

#13 Tagging

An interesting use of RSS within the library OPAC. However, I beleieve that there would be no control on the type of information supplied - would all of it be appropriate for all users of an OPAC?

#12 ROLLYO

Interesting method of adding a search capacity to my blogspot. It did work, however, doing the same lesson twice to achieve the desired outcome. Practise makes perfect!

#7 Technology

Everything today is just a click away. Now our fingers do the walking across the keyboard instead of up and down the "yellow pages" or other paper-based technologies such as the old fashioned card catalog!

#10 Playing around with image generators and #11 LIBRARYTHING

So many images on the internet, and it is interesting how they can be manipulated! what implications does this mean for the phtograph s in the future? More time needed to research this area properly.

I loved Library Thing: http://www.librarything.com/catalog/petitespunk
a very interesting issue, remember to use the return key to highlight the http!
